This is a walkthrough of a common situation in gold-saving scheme administration, and how CaratOS's Kitty Manager is designed to handle it — not a report from a specific customer.
The customer is asked to wait until the usual staff member is back, or someone has to physically go check the register later and call her back. Either way, a loyal customer is left uncertain about her own money for hours or days — not because the shop did anything wrong, but because the only record of the truth lives in one physical book that one person understands.
Whoever receives her message can pull up her kitty record immediately — not from memory, not from a register only one person can interpret, but from a system that shows instalment-by-instalment paid/unpaid status for her specific scheme. The cash payment from two weeks ago is either there, confirming her, or it isn't, in which case the conversation shifts to figuring out what actually happened — but either way, it's answered in the moment, not after a delay that makes a loyal customer feel doubted.
The scheme itself doesn't change — she's still paying the same way, into the same trust-based arrangement jewellers have always offered. What changes is that the shop's side of that trust — accurate, accessible records — no longer depends on one person or one physical book being available at the right moment.
